What is the most bizarre travel experience you've had in Costa Rica?

I did not have a bizarre travel experience here, but i had a really good time here. I went with some of my friends last year, and we had a blast.

What sort of fun stuff did you do in Brazil that made it such a good time?

Dustin.. this is a forum about Central America and a topic about Costa Rica... Brazil is in South America and has nothing to do with Costa Rica!

Thanks Jimmy, I am glad I was not the only one who spotted his mistake, its sad to think that people do not even know the difference from Central America, and South America. What is my children's education going to be like in 20 years?

The most bizarre of all of my travels is my experience in Costa Rica where I was robbed and held for a day so those goons could take more money on my atm account which was closed after that incident. Luckily I just brought one atm with and left the other on my hotel room. I will never come back to that awful place again. It's a nightmare out there

Unfortunately, these so-called express kidnappings are quite common in some parts of the world. You were lucky to be held just one day... The credit card companies should really get their act together and protect their customers. They would easily have a "I'm kidnapped" PIN code which when used would maybe show a balance of $100 and after a withdrawl disable the account. That way the thief couldn't force you to do a balance inquiry and see you have $25, 000 in your account and figure he can get $500 or $1000 a day till its empty!

Let us not be so judgmental with Costa Rican peolple. If you had experienced a crime in that place then just leave it to their conscience. There are still some People in that place that may be nice and warm. Besides Costa Rica have a lot to offer for tourist visiting their country. They have wildlife sanctuaries there that is very relaxing and it makes a person feel close to nature.:)

Costa Rica is generally a very nice and quite a peaceful place, indeed. Just due to the way in which the place is situated alone, one can have such a blast. This is why I see no need in disrespecting the country, not at all. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
